Guided tours

Please note that participating in a tour is only possible if you are PCR-tested, vaccinated or recovered (2.5-G Rule). The currently valid periods for the validity of the certificates can be found here.

In addition, participants over the age of 6 are required to wear a mouth-nose-protection or FFP2 mask to ensure the safety of our visitors for the duration of their stay at the Musikverein. (For unvaccinated, non-recovered persons, the wearing of an FFP2 mask is mandatory.)

As one of the world's most beautiful concert halls and most decorative and striking buildings on Vienna's Ringstrasse, the Musikverein can be best appreciated in the setting of a concert. However, the Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde is also opening the doors of this magnificent building for public tours.

Public tours usually take place on Monday to Friday. The exact times can be found in the selection field below. Since the Musikverein is not a museum, but a lively concert venue, it can rarely happen that guided tours have to be postponed or canceled due to rehearsals or technical modifications. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and ask for your understanding.

When choosing the desired tour, please note the different languages offered which are German and English. In order to enjoy the tour it is essential to understand the chosen language. We also offer group tours in other languages. For group tours please contact us as indicated below. During regular guided tours it is not possible to translate into another language.

If you wish to visit the Musikverein with a group (>8 people) a separate booking is necessary. Please fill in the form if you want to book such a tour. We will answer as soon as possible.
