Musikverein Festival: Beethoven’s Medicine Spoon
In the 2022/23 season, the entire festival is based on a particularly personal object from the collections of the Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde. A real relic from Beethoven’s estate: the spoon with which Beethoven took his medicine in the last stages of his life.
Musikverein Perspectives
In the series “Musikverein Perspectives”, the Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde in Vienna invites artists who are not professional musicians – but who have a great passion for music in their private lives. In the 2022/23 season, we welcome Georg Baselitz and Tarek Atoui to the Musikverein!
Paris is Dancing!
The French conductor François Xavier Roth and his orchestra ‘Les Siècles’ bring the famous ballet compositions by Stravinsky and Ravel, Rimsky-Korsakov and Debussy to life in a literally unheard-of way – in the sound of their time of origin.
Music in Upheaval
One focus of the Musikverein’s programme focuses on Russian music in these times of upheaval – in a broad spectrum from orchestral concerts to song recitals, from silent films with live music to education programmes.
