Information for wheelchair users

Are the concerts at the Musikverein wheelchair-accessible? How do I get my tickets and how can I go to the concert? We have compiled all the information for wheelchair users here.

At all events of the Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde in Vienna, the prescribed number of wheelchair spaces is available in all halls. Places for wheelchair users and one accompanying visitor are offered at a reduced price of €17 each (Great Hall and Brahms Hall) or €15 each (all other halls).

Unless otherwise stated, advance ticket sales for members begin two months before the respective performance. The general pre-sale starts one week later. In the case of special concerts and third-party events, other advance booking deadlines or availability of wheelchair spaces may apply.

We are happy to accept your ticket order for events by phone or e-mail. The ticket price will be debited via your chosen means of payment. The booked tickets can be collected during opening hours at the box-office upon presentation of your credit card or booking confirmation. Delivery as a print@home ticket is also possible.
Please note that it is not possible to cancel booked tickets.

Parking on public roads

Please note that the entire First District and adjacent districts are short-stay parking zones, subject to the following regulations:

  • Manadatory paid period: Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 22:00
  • max. parking time: 2 hours
  • For vehicles with a disability badge in accordance with § 29b StvO, signposted parking areas in Bösendorferstraße, near the Künstlerhaus, as well as all resident parking spaces in Bösendorferstraße are available at no additional cost.

In the summer months of July and August, please note the shortened opening hours: Monday to Friday 09:00 – 12:00. The box-office opens 1 hour before the start of the concert (for in-house events).

* Between 18:00 and 19:00, we try to provide the best possible service regarding the current concert. Therefore we are available for commission-based business and subscription payments between 9:00 and 18:00.

Ticket collection

You can pick up your tickets after Musikverein has confirmed your order via e-mail.

As a receipt, you will need:

  • the credit card used to place the order, or
  • a printout of the booking confirmation sent to you by e-mail.

Concert tickets collection

  • in the concert box-office of the Musikverein during opening hours
  • outside the specified opening hours, also in the concert box-office of the Musikverein from one hour before the start of the concert
  • Please note that the Musikverein’s box office is not wheelchair accessible. Our colleagues will be happy to bring your order to the door. To the right of the entrance there is a bell for this purpose.

Concert Visit

The accessibility entrance for wheelchair users is located at the main entrance on the right.

The Musikverein has three wheelchair-accessible toilets: in the 2nd foyer (2nd basement floor), at the main entrance on the right and at the balcony boxes on the left.

There are no special dress codes for attending the Musikverein.
Coats, bags, backpacks and umbrellas must be left at the cloakroom for safety reasons.
