Becoming a member of the Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde has always been something special. Feelings of belonging and participating, identification and love for a shared interest were all reasons for the creation of the society more than 200 years ago. They remain defining themes today. The Musikverein connects people who share not only an interest but also an ideal. It is this that brings them together as “supporting members”, as defined in the society’s founding statutes.

This is the foundation upon which the Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde in Vienna has built a world-class institution. The benefits of this achievement are passed on by the Musikverein to its current members in the form of outstanding service and special reductions. Thus both the idealistic founding principle of the organisation and the modern aspect of service provision come together with a particular focus upon the members themselves.

Alongside the traditional options of either regular membership or youth membership of the Musikverein, there are now other forms of involvement that take the supportive aspects of membership a step further. As a Musikverein Supporter, Sponsor or Patron, you can enjoy additional, personal and tailor-made advantages. These go above and beyond the palette of benefits and reductions available to regular members. They have been designed to recognise and reward particularly generous forms of support through exclusive offers. Regular Membership

Regular membership of the Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde includes the following benefits:

10% reduction on subscription concerts (up to 2 subscriptions per concert series)
Early access to advance booking for all Gesellschaft concerts from 2 months before scheduled performance dates (General advance booking: 1 week later)
Delivery via post of the "Musikfreunde" magazine each month and of all other programmes (festivals, festival concerts, etc.)
A special gift each year, which can be collected at the box-office
Delivery in April of the subscription concert programme for the coming season

For persons aged 24 or under

Youth membership of the Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde entails the same benefits as regular membership, and is valid for any person aged 24 or under. When making an application for youth membership, please provide the young person’s date of birth.

Preferential advance booking of up to 6 tickets for one concert
Exclusive introductory presentation for that concert

Table reservation for the concert interval incl. champagne and canapes
Personal hosting throughout your Musikverein visit, greeting you as you enter, accompanying you to the cloakroom and introductory presentation, then guiding you to your seat and to your table reservation during the interval, etc.
