Die Förderin 

Anne-Sophie Mutter

Sie ist eine der besten Geigerinnen der Welt und engagiert sich zugleich mit ihrer eigenen Stiftung leidenschaftlich für den Musikernachwuchs. Für die „Musikfreunde“ hat Anne-Sophie Mutter mit Margot Weber in einem ihrer seltenen Interviews über ihre Arbeit jenseits des Konzertpodiums gesprochen. 

Ihren Namen kennt jeder. Auch die Menschen, die sich nicht für klassische Musik interessieren. Anne-Sophie Mutter. Seinen Namen hingegen kennen bislang eher Insider. Pablo Ferrández. Aber das ändert sich gerade rasant. Denn der Cellist aus Madrid „hat alles“, wie seine Mentorin sagt. Fragt man genauer nach, gerät sie hörbar ins Schwärmen: „Er ist ein sehr feiner, gleichzeitig sehr leidenschaftlicher Musiker, er hat einen wunderbaren Klang, bei ihm ergibt sich alles auf sehr natürliche Weise. Und, nicht zuletzt: Er ist sehr, sehr klug.“ 

Mit viel Herzblut

Sie ist ihm schon vor einigen Jahren erstmals begegnet, seit 2018 ist er Stipendiat ihrer Stiftung. Was das konkret bedeutet? Vielerlei. Auch eine enge Verbindung über WhatsApp, wie Anne-Sophie Mutter lachend erzählt. Aber vor allem meint es: dass sie ihn musikalisch unterstützt. Denn da dem 29-Jährigen mit dem „Lord Aylesford“-Stradivari-Cello von 1696, einer Leihgabe der Nippon Foundation, bereits ein adäquates Instrument zur Verfügung steht, muss sich die Anne-Sophie Mutter Stiftung beispielsweise darum nicht mehr kümmern. So können sich Mentorin und Mentee voll und ganz auf Beethoven und Co konzentrieren – und werden in diesem Jahr mehrfach mit der Pianistin Khatia Buniatishvili mit ebenjenem „Tripelkonzert“ konzertieren, das sie nun auch im Musikverein spielen werden. Ein schöner Anlass, um etwas mehr über ihre Stiftung und den Freundeskreis zu erfahren – beidem widmet sich Anne-Sophie Mutter seit mehr als zwanzig Jahren mit enorm viel Zeit und Herzblut.
