Im Dialog mit Beethoven

Neue Kammermusik im historischen Kontext 

In der Konzerttrilogie „Beethoven heute“ erklingen bis zum Saisonende neue Kammermusikwerke von Johanna Doderer, Gerald Resch und Johannes Maria Staud. Daniel Ender hat die drei österreichischen Komponisten für die „Musikfreunde“ zum Gespräch getroffen.  

Was bedeutet Beethoven Ihnen persönlich und als KomponistInnen?
Resch: Die Tatsache, dass er ein rundes Jubiläum hat, ist dafür gar nicht entscheidend. Wahrscheinlich geht es uns allen so, dass wir uns immer wieder mit seinen Werken beschäftigen, weil er unglaublich ökonomische und fantasievolle Lösungen findet. Das ist eine Fundgrube, die ohnehin permanent griffbereit ist. Es gehört zum täglichen Brot jedes Musikers. Doderer: Wenn ich mich mit Beethoven beschäftige, komme ich nach Hause. Wahrscheinlich ist er jener Komponist, der mein Leben musikalisch am meisten beeinflusst hat. Ich habe seine Klaviersonaten gespielt, das war während meines Studiums die vielleicht prägendste Erfahrung. Es ist für mich eine Riesenfreude, mich jetzt nochmals so intensiv mit ihm auseinanderzusetzen. Er ist ein Komponist, der vor allem im Spätwerk Räume gesprengt hat.  
Staud: Was mich an ihm fasziniert, sind seine individuellen Problemlösungen. Besonders in seinem Spätwerk war er seiner Zeit absolut voraus – das ist ein starkes Plädoyer für den zeitlosen Avantgardismus. Bei mir war er auch der wesentlichste Motivator, um mit dem Komponieren zu beginnen. Als ich als Kind seine Erste Symphonie rauf und runter gehört habe, dachte ich mir: Das möchte ich auch, einmal so ein mitreißendes symphonisches Werk schreiben.
