Pianist der Superlative

„Er hat alles und noch mehr“, sagt Martha Argerich über ihn, und die Londoner „Times“ bescheinigt ihm, er sei „ohne Frage der erstaunlichste Pianist unserer Zeit“. Daniil Trifonov, der mit solchen Superlativen ausgezeichnete Künstler, ist in der laufenden Saison Artist in Residence bei der Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde in Wien. Am 6. Juni präsentiert der 28-Jährige mit dem ORF RSO Wien sein Klavierkonzert, mit dem er an die große Reihe komponierender Virtuosen anschließt. Tags zuvor gibt Trifonov im Gläsernen Saal eine öffentliche Meisterklasse.

Trifonov hatte schon ein Klavier- und ein Kompositionsstudium hinter sich, als er 2009 ans Cleveland Institute of Music wechselte, um sich zu perfektionieren. Hier entstand auch sein Klavierkonzert – Trifonov schrieb es als Auftragswerk im Studienprogramm „Komponist/Performer“. Zu dieser Zeit, so erzählt er den „Musikfreunden“, „war ich sehr inspiriert von Prokofjews Zweitem Klavierkonzert, das ich damals lernte. Gewisse emotionale Elemente haben mich angesprochen, solche Elemente wollte auch ich in meinem Konzert ausdrücken.“
Als Komponist/Performer spielt Trifonov nun dieses Klavierkonzert erstmals in Österreich. Und noch eine österreichische Erstaufführung hat das ORF RSO in diesem Konzert parat: eine Ballettmusik des musikalischen Jahresregenten Jacques Offenbach. Man sollte kaum glauben, dass es von diesem populären, 1819 geborenen Meister noch Musik zu entdecken gibt. Aber es ist so: „Le Royaume de Neptune“, eine halbstündige Ballettmusik aus „Orpheus in der Unterwelt“ wurde in der Oberwelt gefunden, entdeckt auf dem sprichwörtlichen Dachboden. Johannes Debus am Pult bringt sie blitzblank poliert in den Goldenen Saal.
