The christmas subscription in the Musikverein
True size is often found in the smallest - even and especially for Christmas. As a counterpoint to gifts in large format, there are the small, particularly fine gifts, whose content can not be easily measure. Time, for example, shared time and even better: with music!
In the four concerts of the small, fine Christmas subscription of the Musikverein there is this kind of greatness: Andris Nelsons conducts Beethoven's 9th Symphony with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, the Singverein Vienna and a exceptional quartet of solists (13 May 2018), Martin Haselböck and the Wiener Akademie performe Bach's "Johannespassion" shortly before Easter (March 11), Cornelius Obonya hosts a musical-literary evening on the theme "Liebe soll sein!" (13 April) and soprano Diana Damrau and her husband, the bass baritone Nicolas Testé, will sing arias of Giuseppe Verdi under the title "Verdissimo" (April 6). The superlative of this title suggests it: The size is of a different kind - and nicely wrapped up in a small subscription.
